Capitolo a parte merita la storia della
famosa
Torre
Marconi.
On the top of the peninsula of Sestri
Levante in a strategic position existed
a spin-tower of the 13th century. Gualino,
invited his friend
Guglielmo
Marconi, to the castles and gave
to the scientist, Nobel priced, the possibility
to make many experiments between 1932
and 1934. On 30 July 1934 Guglielmo Marconi,
at the presence of technicians, officers
of the Italian and English Navy and many
newspaper writers, managed with success
his experiment on blind navigation. In
particular, the boat Elettra left the
port of Santa Margherita and sailed to
Sestri Levante. The boat dribbled through
boes and entered the port with big precision
driven only by the signals sent from a
radio-beacon installed on the promontory.
